Halloween is here. Lucky for you, we have a spooky and infinitely abstruse playlist by Andi who is an absolute professional at Halloween; for proof click here.
You may recognize Shereen Mohammed from our last two Lookbooks. We met Shereen through her beautiful and emotive instagram. She is as sweet and lovely as her curation expresses. We recently caught up with her to uncover the secrets to her self-expression, creativity, and love.
What keeps you stable during the chaos of your week? Sunset walks by the Hudson river, evening tea and listening to a favorite podcast.
What people/place/things do you find yourself consistently going back to for inspiration? I’m inspired by my girlfriends in my life. We laugh, we dance, we joke, we love and we help try to be our highest and best selves. It warms my soul to have the ladies in my life with me along this journey as cheerleaders and true best friends. I’m surrounded by good people who align with my vision and goals (aren’t I lucky??!), and am beyond grateful for the gift of beautiful (inside and out), intelligent, loving, honest and like-minded sisters.
Any specific material or color you feel drawn to recently? I’ve fallen in love with neutral shades of brown, black, cream and navy.
Current book or publication you’re reading? I started reading my friend, Fariha Roisin’s poetry book that she has recently published, “How to Cure a Ghost”. It’s a collection of her thoughts as a young, queer muslim women and her journey on self-acceptance and forgiveness.
We have taken our time to properly say goodbye to Summer, but we think we are finally ready to see it go. And what better way to say farewell than an emotional and sui generis mix by our very own music savant Andi.
From Andi: "My end of summer playlist has been influenced by staying indoors for most of the season, the MN state fair, a trip to Edison, WA, and changing two flat tires after midnight in Detroit."
Cookbook Club 101: What It Is and How to Start Your Own
A little something we have been up to over here at IDUN. A few of us started a cookbook club and it has become so special. With the cold, dark winter months ahead it's the perfect time to start one of your own. A great way to make sure you are meeting with friends and exploring new foods through the winter months.
We wanted to share Kate's take on how to start your own!
"Creating moments to have quality time with someone you’re getting to know is rare as an adult and it is one of the aspects of cookbook club I love the most." - Kate Arends of Wit & Delight
If you're interested in starting your own cookbook club read more of Wit & Delight's how-to, HERE.
