IDUN AT HOME: BERIT

Idun at home cont'd...
Next up, Berit!
"Here's my indulgent playlist comprised of random songs for no reason other than I really just like them. I think in this time of uncertainty it suits us to be gentle with ourselves and do things that simply feel good and feed our humanity (while staying at home!). I've been striving to take it slow and check in with myself in mindful and kind ways, and I hope this encourages you to do the same.
Listen to Berit's playlist, HERE.
Coincidentally one of my favorite paintings (which is at the Minneapolis Institute of Art!) is also very much my stuck at home mood during this time: 'Nude on a Couch', Gustave Caillebotte, 1890, oil on canvas."

IDUN AT HOME: ANDI

Idun at home cont'd...

Next up, Andi!

"Film: The Love Witch. Not only is this movie campy and thoughtful, director Anna Biller created all of the gorgeous costumes. A perfect film if you’re craving some color.

Book: 60 Stories by Donald Barthelme. This has been my favorite collection of stories since I was 18, and that comforts me during such a stressful time. It’s bizarre and surreal, much like current events.

Listen to Andi's Maybe Baby Playlist HERE.

This playlist is dedicated to my fellow plague mothers, and babies! You probably didn’t envision going through this during a pandemic; I see you and hope that these difficult times aren’t robbing you of your excitement and joy. Most of the songs I chose are off of my baby shower playlist that may or may not be cancelled, so I’m glad that I can at least share them with you. Cheers!"

IDUN AT HOME: MEGAN

When Idun's physical space is not available we want to do our very best to bring the Idun spirit of rebirth and rejuvenation to you. Each member of the team make up the spirit of Idun, and so, we have asked them to share a few things that have been comforting or creatively awakening to them.

We hope this brings some sense of tranquility or awakens an inventive spirit within you.

First up, Megan!

"One bright spot in my mornings is pome, the daily poem newsletter by Matthew Ogle. They hit your heart in just the right way. Here's a recent one I particularly loved."

I have to tell you
By Dorothea Grossman
I have to tell you,
there are times when
the sun strikes me
like a gong,
and I remember everything,
even your ears.

Listen to Megan's curated mix here.
"Soft and dreamy. Gentle and endlessly achy. That's how I like my music in trying times, and all the time, really. Can't wait to hug y'all again."  - Xx Megan

Berit's Mix: Idun / la femme

Idun / la femme playlist by Berit Belén Johnson

From Berit: "As I was compiling best of lists this year, contrary to my own personal trends, my favorite artists in 2019 were mostly women. So in that vein, as I was ruminating on how to begin a playlist for the shop - one for early spring, for a time of political upheaval, for general pleasure and fortitude, (and obviously the continued dismantling of the patriarchy) - I figured a list of all femme artists was as good as any. Onward and forward, babes!"
