This collection of drawings and paintings reflects Schultz interest in the poetics of simple and vibrant everyday scenes. An homage to summer’s end; each piece is dynamic with strokes both controlled and sporadic, constantly toeing the line of scenes that could be real or imagined. Like a last hold onto summer, with the explosion of senses that comes along with the season shifting, these works of art exude both a jolt of crisp excitement and soothing warmth.
This work is inspired by Gustav Klimt's sketch of a reclining nude.
