INTERVIEW / Shereen Mohammad

You may recognize Shereen Mohammed from our last two Lookbooks. We met Shereen through her beautiful and emotive instagram. She is as sweet and lovely as her curation expresses. We recently caught up with her to uncover the secrets to her self-expression, creativity, and love.

What keeps you stable during the chaos of your week?
Sunset walks by the Hudson river, evening tea and listening to a favorite podcast.

What people/place/things do you find yourself consistently going back to for inspiration?
I’m inspired by my girlfriends in my life. We laugh, we dance, we joke, we love and we help try to be our highest and best selves. It warms my soul to have the ladies in my life with me along this journey as cheerleaders and true best friends. I’m surrounded by good people who align with my vision and goals (aren’t I lucky??!), and am beyond grateful for the gift of beautiful (inside and out), intelligent, loving, honest and like-minded sisters.

Any specific material or color you feel drawn to recently?
I’ve fallen in love with neutral shades of brown, black, cream and navy.

Current book or publication you’re reading?
I started reading my friend, Fariha Roisin’s poetry book that she has recently published, “How to Cure a Ghost”. It’s a collection of her thoughts as a young, queer muslim women and her journey on self-acceptance and forgiveness.

Current song or album you’ve been listening to?
I’m obsessed with the song “In the Morning I’ll be Better” by Tennis.

What are 3 products you can’t live without?
Shea Butter, Clark’s Botanical serum and Olio E Osso tinted lip balm.

Where is your favorite place to pass the time, or take a break?
I’m forever at peace by the ocean.

Words you live by day to day?
Honor your bloom, and trust your wilt. Each serves a purpose.
